Beskrivelse: DKC 3900918. A. canadensis x A. anser; male at least 5½ years old, ringed at Sortedams Søen as an adult bird, 2½ years ago - and now seen again less than 5 km from location where getting the ring.

if this was a Caspian Gull it would be the first adult lacking a p9 mirror. :) Because of this and the serrated tongue edge of the outer primary (p10) I'd suggest this is a hybrid cachinnans x argentatus (the so called 'cactus').

Beskrivelse: After living 15 years by this little urban lake the Gadwall was finally added to my 'lake-list'.
This morning the lake was a mix of ice and open water. A male and a female took advantage of the open water to feed.
It is, without any question, a female.
The size - compare with the domestic pigeon! - The rufous tinge is quite common in adult females although never as reddish as in some adult males.
