Beskrivelse: A group of 31 Sudan Golden Sparrows was observed by me, Robrecht Debbaut, Simon Vyncke, Pieter-Jan D'Hondt and Sander Bruylants on the 6th of February after Stephen Menzie & co. counted 28 birds on the 2nd of February.
Biggest flock ever observed in the WP?

Beskrivelse: Found along a surfer's beach. Probably the best place in WP to see this species of tern.
More pictures of this trip are available on my website (updated asap every day).

Many thanks, DAVID.
Astonishing how closely this Small 'sandy' Passer
(13-14½ cm) - on Your photo! - may
approache some of the LANIUS species in stance
and plumage [but w/ different bill].
Further, its bill is quite a bit HEAVIER than
illustrated in SVENSSON and BEAMAN.
Best rgds. ........... C.
Many thanks PETER for explaining that the Bill
on this photo APPEARS (unduly) Heavy,
possibly due to a combination of optical
'artifact' and the bird's temporarily 'flattened'
front and crown feathers.

Beskrivelse: At least 11 Wilson's Storm Petrels and 90 European Storm Petrels were seen foraging together of Port of Dakhla on the 17th of May. Experience close encounters with Wilsons’s was a big surprise especially this being in May were they seems to be quite scarce in the Western Palearctic?
