Beskrivelse: A new floating photo hide in Båtsfjord harbour creates new opportunities for Arctic seaduck study and photography. Situated in Båtsfjord, Varanger. I must admit I had the birding experience of a lifetime. Amazing being surrounded by Stellers-, King- and Common Eiders + Long-tailed Ducks. Thought this is worth sharing here on Netfugl.dk

Beskrivelse: Every year, during the two first weeks of August, the Sandvika beach in Vardø is the favoured place for young Red-necked Phalaropes. Max number I have registered is 600 birds (allmost all 1st-year birds) around the beach and the nearby breakwater (molo). more photos at:

Thanks for comments!
I have been following Netfugl for a long time. Allways checking in for latest news, id-debates and new photos. Great inspiration. It was about time to join the forum and contribute..
Tormod
And you couldn't have chosen a more spectacular entry....the composition, the dynamics, the subtle colours and the fact that all seven birds - even the number is significant - attain different positions of wings and legs contribute to the moving impact this magic image has on the viewer.....
Dare I say a once in a lifetime photo?
Many thanks, TORMOD, for a Formidable, dynamic
Gull picture,
demonstrating in a split-second, the ad. Glaucous-w.,
in Norwegian summer, to the left,
- with Dark eye and and Grey on underwing.
Great Compliments ... C.

Beskrivelse: Thought I would add these to the gallery. Not so many Vega Gull photos on Netfugl. Definitely an interesting bird to know more about. Also just posted a series of gull photos on our blog, with mix of northern and eastern gulls. Like stated on the blog: all gull photos on the blogpost are free to copy/use if this is of interest. I enjoy reading the many gull id-discussion around, so if this can be usefull for someone, then just copy from the blog.
